who is she?
Em Hexe (she/they) is an intellectual mystic, artist, and Tarot reader with nearly two decades of devoted practice with the cards. Her readings are an invitation into a portal in which Em accesses other realms, channeling the unique truths of each individual through the lens of the Arcana.
My reading style is unconventional. Drawing from my multidisciplinary background in art, anthropology, dreamwork, alchemy, and social justice, I plumb the depths of my mind and channel an eloquent stream of information infused with humor and wit. (Read: sometimes I swear, or pause while I untangle the transmission). Readings are refreshing, raw, and one of a kind.
I read with the Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS) Tarot deck. Pamela Coleman Smith, the illustrator /midwife of this deck, is my mentor and muse. (She is definitely with me when Iām channeling!) My work with the cards is truly in service to her legacy. I wrote my college undergraduate thesis on the otherworldly Arcana that Pixie created, and teach workshops on how to learn the RWS deck through mapping the cards, or, as I call it, Arcana Cartography. (Tarot jazz.)
I live with my familiars in a 19th century church on unceded Abenaki land (southern VT) where my family has lived for six generations. I am a queer, neurodivergent, sensitive INFP witch. I was raised Catholic, which informs my spiritual practice through my fascination with ritual, prayer, and holy objects.
I have studied Tarot, Somatic Dreamwork, and Astrology with Rachel Pollack, Dr. Leslie Ellis, Pam Ciampi, Robert Bosnak, Robert Moss, and Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes, among others. I have served as a member of the Ethics Committee for the International Association for the Study of Dreams since 2018. I am attuned in Reiki I and II, and have completed trainings to serve as a Hospice volunteer and volunteer Birth Doula in my community. With cardinal stelliums in my fourth, sixth, and twelfth houses, my work in this world is to be of service through the astral and ancestral realms.
